- Distribute relevant information efficiently to advisors across campus to ensure accuracy
- Facilitate communication between departments/schools
- Provide professional academic advisor development
- Present an annual speaker on the topic of advising
- Coordinate Advisor Brown Bag Series
- Provide annual awards for excellence in advising
- Assist with the planning of academic advising for the New Student Orientation sessions
Structure
The KU Advising Network consists of a Steering Committee and four standing committees --Advisor Awards, Brown Bag Advisor Series, Graduate Advising, and Network Communications. Ad hoc committees are formed as deemed appropriate. Members can join the network as active or associate members. Please see the KU Advising Network membership form and by-laws for more details. The Network is pending affiliation with the Office of the Provost.
